About Sunny Days

Sunny Days Nursery School was established by Caughdenoy Faith & Family Church in 1983. We provide our community with a Christian-based, educationally sound program which provides for the development of basic concepts, attitude, skills, and individual creativity.

Our curriculum is designed to prepare the children for kindergarten socially, spiritually, physically, and academically.
"Sunny Days has wonderful group of teachers and a great director. Whether it be at school or home they are very helpful with questions and advice! We have been coming for two years and glad to have younger children who look forward coming to sunny days in the near future as they feel welcomed and are always greeted with a smile!"

Crystal M.
"Our daughter loves going to Sunny Days! She is always excited to see her friends and teachers. She sings us her favorite songs from class, tells us all about the learning activities they do, and is so proud of the projects that she makes in the classroom centers. She is not just learning her letters and numbers; she is also learning the social and behavioral skills that she will need next year in kindergarten. Sunny Days has done a great job of preparing her for school and helping us feel more confident in her ability to make the transition successfully."

Michelle Epstein, Director of Sunny Days Nursery School

I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Director of Sunny Days Nursery School! Being chosen to lead this school is an absolute privilege and I strive to foster a positive environment that nurtures the well-being of every child. I am happily married with 3 children; my youngest daughter was a student here at Sunny Days!

I have over 20 years of childcare experience and this will be my fifth year on staff. I am a huge proponent of community; many hands make light work!
I believe children thrive in a loving, supportive environment and that is why I am so proud to be a part of Sunny Days.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I look forward to collaborating with parents, grandparents, guardians, and staff to make this a wonderful year!

Mrs. Benson, Teacher

I am beginning my 18th year as a teacher at Sunny Days Nursery School and truly love working with young children during these important early years. Helping them learn, grow, and gain confidence through play, exploration, and discovery is one of my greatest joys. My family and I live locally, and the church is very meaningful to us—I was married here, our son was baptized here, and our daughter attended Sunday school here. In addition to my work at Sunny Days, I have taught dance to children ages 3–18 for over 27 years at the Liverpool School of Dance, where I enjoy encouraging creativity, self-expression, and teamwork.

Mrs. Gould, Teacher

Hi there! I have been at Sunny Days for three years and have taught preschool for 14 years. I have a mixed classroom of 3- and 4-year-olds and I love to do a lot of messy projects together! I have been married for 15 years and have an 8-year-old daughter. We also have three kitties and one pup!

Mrs. Sanford, Teacher

I love teaching the three-year-olds at Sunny Days! This is my second year as a teacher, but I’ve been a member of the Sunny Days family since my oldest daughter started in 2018. Before starting my family, I ran a children’s developmental gymnastics program. I love to incorporate cooperative games and movement into our learning each day, like parachute and treasure hunts! When I’m not teaching, I love reading, cooking, and swimming with my husband, three kids, and two dogs.

I work with Mrs. Gould in a mixed classroom of 3- and 4-year-olds. My favorite thing is seeing the children grow, learn, gain confidence, and form bonds throughout the year. I am a mom of two grown children who both attended Sunny Days when they were little. I am blessed to love what I do!

Mrs. Fischer, Aide

Hi there! My name is Mrs. Fischer, and I have been at Sunny Days since 2022. I grew up in the area, and all 4 of my children have attended Sunny Days. It has been such a pleasure to have been able to experience our program as a parent and now part of the staff! I can't wait to meet your little ones and help them learn and create!

I am excited to be joining Mrs. Benson’s classroom this year!  I have subbed on a temporary basis so I am familiar with how the Sunny Days’ classrooms operate. I am looking forward to engaging children in hands-on learning experiences through play throughout the year! My husband Marc and I have three daughters who have all attended Sunny Days. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for the past 12 years and am thrilled to be back in a classroom as my degrees are in education. When I’m not at Sunny Days, I enjoy reading, making sourdough, doing puzzles, and hiking.

Our Philosophy

Sunny Days Nursery School offers an environment that fosters Christian faith and discipleship. We believe meaningful learning involves active, firsthand experiences and participation. Therefore, we provide for each child an educational experience designed to help him/her grow intellectually, socially, spiritually, emotionally and physically. We maintain a program that is child centered and experience based. We believe play is a young child’s work and natural way of learning. We believe that young children need to experience that they are loved, valued and enjoyed.

Sunny Days recognizes that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery.  Preschool children are creative and receptive, and our staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in the children who attend.  The purpose of our preschool is to provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth and development of the child as a whole.

Our curriculum is literacy based and includes time for sharing, playing, and talking;  stories and songs; creative art and craft activities; exposure to shapes, colors, numbers, and letters.
